Overview
A discussion about doctors health and burnout.
Body
Doctor's health is not just about being able to manage a doctor who may come to see you as a patient, but also about being the patient yourself. There are many barriers that deter us from seeking our own medical help, and some suggestions as how to cope are highlighted, with help from group discussion.
One objection to seeking help comes from the concern about mandatory reporting to AHPRA for medical impairment, and this is discussed at greater length.
Another important issue that has been highlighted though our recent pandemic is the question of stress and burnout which is also further discussed together with a possible range of symptoms for developing burnout.
Finally, questions of how to help yourself will be discussed, with a reminder that we are all different, and that one size does not fit all.
