Susan Barnett

Dr Susan Barnett has been a Gp since 2003 and became GP Psychotherapist in 2014. She decided to move into private practice as a Gp Psychotherapist in 2021. She is a Fellow and Education Chair of ASPM. She is medical educator for ASPM , Blackdog Institute and RACGP. She is involved in teaching for ASPMs FPS course, Webinar series and CCGs Susan provides group and individual Supervision to Gps to encourage regular reflective practice for the complex psychological work GPs do. Susan is passionate about teaching Gps practical psychological skills that can be used within a normal General Practice consult. She is also a strong advocate promoting self care for all Gps utilising evidence based medicine. She is very proud to be a Gp and through ASPM she is part of a group of Gps who are working hard to raise awareness of the precious Specialist skills that Gps have in providing whole person complex care in our community.
